What is ReactVision?
ReactVision is a device-agnostic enterprise XR (extended reality) platform built on React Native. Teams build AR and VR experiences once and deploy them natively to iOS, Android, and Meta Quest, using the open-source ViroReact renderer, the ReactVision Studio visual editor, and the managed ReactVision Platform.
What devices does ReactVision support?
iOS and iPadOS (ARKit), Android (ARCore), and Meta Quest 3, 3S and Pro (OpenXR) are supported today from one codebase. Apple Vision Pro support is in internal preview and Android XR support is coming soon.
What happens when a device we deploy on is discontinued?
You retarget the same application to new hardware. Because ReactVision apps are written in React Native rather than a device-specific engine project, your scenes, logic, and content carry over and there is no re-write.
Do we need to hire XR specialists to use ReactVision?
No. ViroReact is a React Native library, so existing web and mobile developers who know JavaScript or TypeScript can build AR and VR features. Teams without developers can build scenes visually in ReactVision Studio.
Is ReactVision open source?
The ViroReact renderer is open source under the MIT licence. ReactVision Studio (Public Beta) and ReactVision Platform are commercial products that build on it.
Can ReactVision run inside our network?
Yes. Studio, Platform, and all content can run on-premises on your hardware with fixed licence pricing, suited to defence, aerospace, healthcare, and regulated public sector work. A managed cloud is the default for everyone else.
How is ReactVision different from building in Unity or Unreal?
Game engines produce a separate application per platform and need specialist engineers. ReactVision apps are React Native apps: one codebase, native AR and VR rendering, built and maintained by the developers you already employ.
