What is the ReactVision Editor?

The ReactVision Editor is a browser-based, no-code editor for AR and VR with a built-in AI agent, and the visual way into the ReactVision stack. Build AR and VR scenes by placing content on a canvas or by asking the AI agent, preview them in real time on your phone or headset with StudioGo, then ship them inside a React Native app through ViroReact, our open-source renderer.

  • A built-in AI agent that builds scenes, assets, and anchors from a prompt.
  • No 3D coding: the Editor writes the scene graph for you.
  • Live device preview on your phone or headset with StudioGo.
  • Cloud and Geospatial Anchors and hosted assets from ReactVision Spatial.
  • One component to load it into any React Native app, native on iOS, Android, and Meta Quest.

Built for the people who know the content

The best person to build a training scenario or a product walkthrough is usually not a 3D engineer. The Editor lets them build it directly, and keeps developers for the parts that need code.

Designers

Lay out scenes, materials, lighting, and motion on a canvas, then check them on a real phone or headset a second later. No handoff document, no waiting on a build.

Trainers

Turn a procedure into a step-by-step AR or VR scenario with triggers and animations, and update it when the procedure changes, without an app release.

Subject matter experts

Put what you know into the scene yourself. Describe it to the AI agent, adjust the result, and hand your developers a scene that already works.

See how trainers use it in collaborative MR and VR training, and how enterprise teams let domain experts build without engineering time.

Describe it, and the AI agent builds it

The Editor has an AI agent built in. Describe the experience you want and it creates scenes, generates and places assets, wires up physics, animation, and triggers, and sets geospatial anchors, all inside your project. You stay in control, and the agent does the legwork.

Hand off the project admin

Ask the agent to spin up projects and scenes, pull in or generate the assets you need, and place them exactly where they belong. The groundwork is done before you start building.

Speed up scene editing

Call the agent from inside a scene to wire up functions and triggers, apply shaders and materials, add physics and animation, and more, without leaving the canvas.

Nothing destructive or billable happens without a yes. The agent uses a formal confirmation step before it deletes anything, removes a placement, or runs a paid AI generation, so you approve the change and the credit cost first.

Read more in the launch post for the AI agent.

Everything you need, without writing code

Triggers, physics, shaders, and animations are panels, not code. Everything here also runs in StudioGo, exactly as you configured it.

Visual scene editing

Add 3D models, images, and text to a canvas, then position, rotate, and scale them directly. Upload your own assets or pull them from the asset library. The Editor writes the scene graph for you.

Triggers and interactions

Trigger images, tap to place, proximity, and gaze triggers, wired to functions such as changing scene, starting an animation, taking a photo, or recording video. No event handlers to write.

Physics

Turn on physics for any asset and set body type, mass, collision shape, friction, and gravity from the properties panel. Collision-based functions decide what happens when two assets meet.

Shaders and materials

Apply a preset shader to any asset in one click, from a holographic finish to a glowing rim light, and see the result straight away. No shader code required.

Animations

Create, preview, and loop animations, start from a library of pre-made ones, or play the clips baked into your GLB and glTF models.

Anchors

Place content with Cloud Anchors and Geospatial Anchors from ReactVision Spatial, so it stays where you put it across sessions and devices.

AI asset generation

Generate 3D models and images from a description and drop them straight into the scene, alongside the assets you upload yourself.

Environment rendering

Preview a scene inside a recorded real-world room and review it with no device in hand, so you can check placement before anyone walks the space.

Preview live, then ship inside your app

Link StudioGo to your project and every change in the Editor shows up in AR on your phone a second later. When the scene is ready, drop StudioSceneNavigator into your React Native app. ViroReact loads the scene at runtime, so you iterate without rebuilding the app. This is the Editor as an XR CMS: content changes go live without an app release.

}

Editor and code, both directions

Designers and developers work on the same scene. The ReactVision MCP Server converts an Editor scene into ViroReact code and back again, so a coding agent can extend what a designer built, and the designer can keep editing what the agent wrote.

Bring your 8th Wall projects

Export an 8th Wall project as a zip and import it into the Editor, then keep editing visually and ship it natively. See the import guide and the 8th Wall migration overview.

Build once. Run native on every major XR platform.

The Editor outputs one scene format. ViroReact renders it natively on each platform using that platform's own runtime: augmented reality via ARKit on iOS and ARCore on Android, and virtual and mixed reality on Meta Quest. Anchors and hosted assets come from ReactVision Spatial, with no separate setup and no separate keys.

Editor questions, answered

What is the ReactVision Editor?
The ReactVision Editor is a browser-based visual editor for building AR and VR scenes without code. It has a built-in AI agent, previews scenes live on device with StudioGo, and ships them natively to iOS, Android, and Meta Quest through the open-source ViroReact renderer.
Is the ReactVision Editor the same as ReactVision Studio?
Yes. The ReactVision Editor was previously called ReactVision Studio. It is the same browser-based editor at studio.reactvision.xyz, with the same account, projects, and scenes, and StudioGo is still its companion app.
Do I need to know how to code to use the Editor?
No. The ReactVision Editor is built for designers, trainers, and subject matter experts. You build scenes visually or by describing them to the AI agent, and you add triggers, physics, shaders, and animations from panels rather than code.
What can the Editor's AI agent do?
The ReactVision Editor's AI agent creates projects and scenes, generates and places 3D assets and images, wires up functions and triggers, applies shaders and materials, adds physics and animation, and sets geospatial anchors. It asks for confirmation before it deletes anything, removes a placement, or runs a paid AI generation.
How do Editor scenes get into a real app?
Add the StudioSceneNavigator component from ViroReact to a React Native app. StudioSceneNavigator loads your ReactVision Editor scenes at runtime, so content changes go live without rebuilding or resubmitting the app.
Can developers and coding agents work on the same scenes?
Yes. The ReactVision MCP Server converts Editor scenes to ViroReact code and back again, so a designer can build in the Editor while a developer or their coding agent extends the same scene in code.
Can I import an 8th Wall project into the Editor?
Yes. Export your 8th Wall project as a zip, create a project in the ReactVision Editor, and choose Import 8th Wall Project. You can then keep editing visually, embed it in an app with StudioSceneNavigator, or publish a Scene Link for browser AR.
Is the Editor free?
Yes. The ReactVision Editor is free to start, with no card required. The free plan includes the full Editor, the AI agent, 350 AI credits a month, and asset hosting. Paid plans raise the limits as your usage grows.
