Bringing AI and AR Together Through ReactVision: Meet Play AR

How quickly can you go from a random idea to a working AR scene? With our new app, the answer is: minutes*.*
A couple of weeks ago, I teased a rough prototype I was working on (dubiously, and affectionately, named “SlopCam”). It was a fun little experiment designed to test how fast we could build using our own tools. Well, after some rapid iteration and fantastic initial feedback, that project has graduated into something much better.
Say hello to Play AR.
Available to download for free today, Play AR is an experimental sandbox that lets you play around in the world of spatial computing. It’s a fun, hands-on showcase of what’s possible when you combine ReactVision’s Studio platform with our powerful ViroReact renderer.

Turn Words into Worlds
We wanted to make AR creation accessible to everyone, whether you are prototyping a serious spatial app or just having a laugh with friends.
- Create with AI: Go from a simple text prompt or image upload to a fully realized 3D model instantly. No 3D design skills required, just grab your phone and let your imagination run wild.
- Place & Play: Once your model is created, drop it into the world around you. We’ve included advanced features like occlusion and shaders, allowing your digital creations to blend seamlessly (and realistically) with your physical environment.
- Capture the Moment: Use the in-app camera and video tools to capture your scene. Whether it’s a unique memory with friends or a demo of a new concept, sharing your world is just a tap away.
Power Up with ReactVision Studio
Play AR works great on its own, but it unlocks even more power when connected to the ecosystem.
By adding your API key in the app settings, you can sync Play AR directly with ReactVision Studio. This allows you to tap into your team’s higher usage limits and ensures that every model you create is automatically backed up to your Studio asset library for future use.

Just the Beginning
This app is an experiment, a way for us to build something ourselves that is fully powered by our tools. We have plenty more experimental apps in the pipeline as we continue to explore what can be built on top of the ViroReact renderer, but for now, we can’t wait to see what you create with this one.
