Reflecting on ReactVision in 2025 and Looking Ahead to 2026

This post took me longer to write than I expected.
Not because there wasn’t enough to say, but because I wanted to find the right words to properly sum up ReactVision’s 2025, while also setting the tone for what we’re building toward in 2026.
Looking back now, it’s clear that 2025 was a transformational year for ReactVision.
From Agency Project to Independent Company
At the start of the year, we announced that ReactVision had joined Morrow. That gave us the space to start properly investing in ViroReact, not just stabilising it, but actively pushing it forward with new features and functionality. We shipped a number of improvements, and even built our first early preview of visionOS support (which we later paused, more on that shortly).
But it became clear quite quickly that if we were serious about our long-term vision, ReactVision needed to stand on its own.
Running a fast-growing open-source platform inside an agency business is hard. Even when you have the financial buffer, the reality is that agency models are built around time being money. The level of focus, headspace, and long-term commitment ReactVision was starting to demand meant it simply wouldn’t thrive inside Morrow.
So once ViroReact was back on solid footing, we made the call to spin ReactVision out as a standalone company: ReactVision, Inc.
That decision shaped everything that followed.
Shipping, Growing, and Finding Our Rhythm
Once the spin-out was done, our focus shifted to two things in parallel:
- Continuing to improve ViroReact’s stability and feature set
- Starting to build Studio in earnest
Over the course of 2025, we:
- Shipped a steady stream of ViroReact updates
- Launched the first alpha version of Studio
- Released StudioGo as a companion testing environment
Alongside this, something equally important happened: the community kept growing.
We saw more contributors, more pull requests, and more developers building real projects with ViroReact. Usage followed the same trend, where ViroReact saw just over 10,000 installs in 2024, that number jumped to 140,000+ installs in 2025.
That growth wasn’t accidental. It coincided with a noticeable shift in the wider market.
The Market Is Catching Up
Over the past year, we’ve seen a real change in how developers think about spatial computing.
As more headsets and smart glasses are announced and released, interest in learning how to build spatial apps has grown significantly, and that momentum doesn’t look like it’s slowing down. For many developers, mobile AR is the natural first step into spatial computing.
ViroReact fits neatly into that moment. It allows developers to build cross-platform spatial experiences quickly, using tools and workflows they already know, without locking themselves into a single platform too early.
Seeing both the market momentum and our own community growth gave us confidence that we were on the right track, and it also enabled us to raise outside investment to give ReactVision the resources it needs to see this vision through. I’ll share more on that another day.
Looking Ahead to 2026
Our primary focus for 2026 is platform expansion.
We’re actively working on HorizonOS support and already have a working proof-of-concept for visionOS. While we paused deeper visionOS work last year due to shifting community demand, the groundwork is there, and as we add support for new platforms, apps built with ViroReact will be able to deploy to them with minimal friction.
The goal is simple: make it easy for developers to port existing apps to new spatial platforms, and just as easy to build entirely new ones using an environment they already know and trust.
On the Studio side, we’re building a no-code / low-code editor that uses AI to make ViroReact’s native, cross-platform rendering capabilities accessible to creatives and non-technical users. As Studio gains support for more platforms, projects built there will benefit automatically, without complicated configuration or bespoke setup.
Alongside the editor itself, we’re also integrating Studio’s platform services directly into ViroReact. This includes:
- Cloud Anchors
- Geospatial Anchors
- Text-to-model creation
- Asset storage and distribution
All of this will be packaged so it’s simply there if you need it. One platform to manage anchors and assets, tightly optimised for the renderer you’re already using: ViroReact.

There’s a lot of work ahead, over the next weeks, months, and the year as a whole, to deliver on all of this.
